Planning a meeting or camp that is Canada themed?
Here’s two fun activities, suitable for all ages.
Where in Canada? Magnet Board
This metal magnet board can be leaned up against a chair or set up on an easel. It comes with a map of Canada poster and many small magnets featuring photos from across the country.
The idea is to pick up a magnet and guess where in Canada it belongs, and put it on. This could be a quiet, ongoing activity for girls to explore or run as a head-to-head challenge.
Don’t worry, the “answer” as to where in Canada each magnet belongs is written on the back.
Table Top Curling Sheets
These handmade curling sheets are laminated and you can “play” curling with a set of marked dimes. The idea is to teach girls the basic rules of curling and then have them flick or slide the dimes to simulate a curling game.
I have four “sheets” and a bunch of marked dimes for loan.
I store them rolled up like a poster, so it’s best if you can borrow them a few days before needed, so you can unroll them and let them relax into flat sheets before use.
One more thing…
If you’re planning a Canada-themed event, consider adding these two downloadable or borrow-able Canada/Ottawa themed Jeopardy Games.
