Pipe chimes are kind of like wind chimes, made from metallic pipes, only each chime is tuned to a musical note. You can play songs on them by gently tapping the pipes with a spoon. This is a great activity to cover all kinds of programming – How To, Art Studio, or even My Mighty Mind.
This set includes a pipe chime set along with some sample music to try. You can find lots more free pipe chime music on the Musical Pipes website.

Here’s a video that will give you some idea of how it works:
Many thanks to Margaret Bradford, the original creator of this set.

Where are they? They are the property of the 1st Southridge Trefoil unit and are stored in my house near the Greenboro Library (On Lorry Greenberg Drive) in Ottawa, Ontario. Major intersection is Conroy and Hunt Club Road.
Pickup and return is the responsibility of the requester. If there are units that want them back-to-back, we may make arrangements to pass the kit along, but expect to get them from, and return them to me. (I can arrange pickup and drop off from my house or workplace near CHEO).
Please return all contents – three posters + 21 pipes + cutlery.
When requesting, please include the following information: the specific dates you’d like the kit; your name, unit name & number; and your telephone number.
Please give me at least 1 week notice.
Let me know if you have any questions. I’m looking forward to seeing these used in Ottawa again.
